Remember those days playing with a toy stethoscope, diagnosing teddy bears, and giving dolls a clean bill of health? Yes, I’m talking about the good ol’ days when our little white coats, made of mom’s repurposed sheets, symbolized our aspiration to be life-saving doctors. Not because of a hefty paycheck or the prestige it carried, but because we genuinely believed in the magic of healing (and maybe, just maybe, we were smitten by the way our parents looked in their white coats).

Fast forward to the present, where our job titles are dictated more by LinkedIn endorsements and less by our childhood dreams. We’ve transitioned from echoing “I want to save lives” to bellowing “I want a larger savings account!” Somewhere between playing pretend surgeries and real-life budget meetings, did our true calling get lost? Pour yourself a warm cup of nostalgia (or a cold brew — we’re adults now), and let’s dissect the evolution of our professional desires, diving deep into the balance of personal passions and external influences. Together, let’s rediscover if we can still find our heart’s rhythm in the bustling hospital wards of life’s responsibilities.
